Ruud van Nistelrooy is two goals short of becoming only the seventh United player to reach 150 goals for the club - and he wants to achieve it against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Dutchman takes great pride in his goalscoring record for the club, and he also recognises the significance it would have reaching the total with a double strike at Anfield in the FA Cup fifth round clash.

"It is a target I would love to achieve and to score two goals against Liverpool would be fantastic," said Ruud.

Van Nistelrooy will join an elite list of United goalscoring luminaries. Sir Bobby Charlton (247), Denis Law (236), Jack Rowley (20, George Best (17, Dennis Viollet (17, Joe Spence (16 and Mark Hughes (162) are the seven to have achieved the feat so far.

The Dutchman is currently eighth in United's all-time list of goalscorers.
