Shah Rukh tell us about Suhana ?
Suhana was born on 23rd June,2000 and I always longed for a daughter (he has named his palatial house at Bandra as Mannat (fulfillment of desire) after her). I always wanted a little girl with long hair and Suhana is one. She looks more like Gauri.
How would you be as a dad?
I would be very protective. She can go anywhere, have boyfriends and stay out late but I will be her driver. She can even make out in the backseat if she wants and she needn't even tell anyone that I am her father. I will just drive her where she wants and she can order me.
Tell us about Aryan, your son?
Aryan is also like Gauri and I thank God for that. I would like him to do everything that I haven't done. I want him to be a nice badmaash.
Has Gauri been your only love?
I asked Gauri out when I was in the eleventh standard. She was four years younger than I and had never been on a date before. Till then we had always gone together in a group. We went out for a drive in my snazzy done up Fiat. That was the first time when I kissed her. Later, I talked things out with her and told her, "I love you, and because I love you I want to marry you. But I want you to take your time and tell me after 5-10 minutes how you feel about me." And till now Gauri had no reason to complain.
Tell us about your father, who we heard passed away when you were very young ?
My father was a hockey player, a lawyer, a patriot and a linguist. He could speak English, Pushtu, Hindi, Kashmiri and Urdu fluently. An absent-minded professor who would leave the house with me running behind him with his shoes in hand. I adored him, he was my yaar. When I was 15, he fell ill. It was cancer. For three months he was in agony. He couldn't eat, he couldn't speak. Only his hair remained intact despite regular chemotherapy. Why should such a jovial man, who was always laughing and making me laugh, suffer like this? He died on September 19, 1981. I was 17 then. I didn't cry... I was too shocked. I had lost my best friend.
About your mother…
After my father's death, my sister Shahnaz and I clung to our mother, Fatima. She was shattered, but she didn't let us down. She took over father's business, and though there wasn't much money coming in for the first five years, she gave us the best of everything. I had only to ask and she would oblige. My mother was outspoken, ambitious, energetic and a go-getter. A typical Hyderabadi beauty. She passed away at 48 due to stress-induced diabetes. Alas, she could not see my Circus, which went on air shortly…
